Alternative Menswear Line Up

my menswear alternative line up for my graduate collection 'Shangri La'. Definitely made a welcome change to design for men instead and ended up quite enjoying it. :)

perhaps a jump to menswear instead? 

sneak peek, BFC for Mulberry competition.

so, i've decided to enter the Mulberry for British Fashion Council competition and i've dug out some leather samples from when I interned at Mulberry a couple of years ago. Luckily the colours are perfect and really 'POP'! All that's needed is a trip to London to get source some softer fabrics to contrast with the leather..

The 6 outfit collection has to be based on my idea of what it is to be 'British' and so far i've found some wonderfully tacky, quintessentially British imagery, by Martin Parr, to base my design range on.

AMQ AW 2012

DazedDIGITAL is a bit of a gold mine for me at the moment.. found these backstage shots of the AMQ AW 2012 show.

Enchanting

As a designer I'm always told to choose 'highlight' colours to give my collection another dimension of 'omph' by the team at AMQ just go to show that white in it's many different textures is enough to create enough impact alone.  

The collection gives out a sense of bleakness and even discovery with the silver leather gilding the garments with a futuristic edge.

just flicking through Dazed&Confused and i love this photoshoot, the layering and combination of scuba like fabrics and underwater colours works well together without looking tacky. a new take on diving?

so i've started illustrating my collection, and here they are.  just need to be scanned and bound. :)

absent curiosity

I'm not entirely sure where these dolls came from.. i found them whilst flicking through Collezioni and love them. there's something about them which is quite lonely and absent. perfect for my collection..
